Did you catch DC Daily this week? There was lots of cool content for DC fans you won’t be able to find anywhere else! The highligt of which was Bitsie Tulloch (Lois Lane) and Lamonica Garrett (The Monitor) stopping by to talk about their roles on this week's huge "Elseworlds" crossover on The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. And there were plenty of other bits of fandom fun. Here are some of the highlights...
On Monday, December 10th, Bitsie Tulloch sat down with Clarke Wolfe to chat about her current role as the Arrowverse’s Lois Lane. Does that make this a Lois and Clarke reunion? (Sorry not sorry.) Bitsie had a lot of love for her Lois predecessor, the late Margot Kidder, whom she said people often compared her to when she was growing up. Afterwards, the DC Daily panel (Clarke Wolfe, Sam Humphries, Markeia McCarty, Hector Nevarro, and Samm Levine) had an aftershow discussion on Titans episode 9: "Hank and Dawn". The panel enjoyed getting to know Don, the original Dove, and Samm had some funny observations about the episode's library brawl. The gang also started a new Titans tradition: #winewatch. Check out the episode to learn more...
On Tuesday, December 11th, Hector Nevarro interviewed Lamonica Garrett (The Monitor) about his role on the CW’s "Elseworlds" crossover. It turned out Lamonica had the nerd cred to go toe-to-toe with Hector, which he proved when he named dropped the names of various Monitors, including Nix Uotan. Next, the DC Daily Panel (Markeia McCarty, Sam Humphries, Hector Nevarro and Brian Tong) had another great DC Book Club with their discussion of Batgirl: Year One. The panel pondered Batman and Robin’s “good cop/bad cop” routine with Batgirl, which Brian felt was more of a “bad cop/smitten cop." If you read the storyline, you know what Brian’s talking about!
On Wednesday, December 12th, Scott Snyder was interviewed about the return of the Batman Who Laughs. Snyder and artist Jock are teaming up for the new The Batman Who Laughs limited series, which Snyder calls “the darkest thing I’ve ever written for Batman." Afterwards, the DC Daily panel (Clarke Wolfe, Samm Levine, Brian Tong, John Kourounis, and Harley Quinn Smith) geeked out over the 1992 classic film Batman Returns. “Tim Burton is my king”, Harley Quinn Smith told the panel. “I think it’s really hard to start a movie by throwing a child into the sewer, yet it was perfect in every single sense." The gang also offered their two cents in a longstanding debate -- is Batman Returns a Christmas movie? What are your thoughts?
On Thursday, December 13th we were treated to more behind-the-scenes footage from Titans. The focus this time was on Dick Grayson; and Geoff Johns, Brenton Thwaites, and Greg Walker gave their thoughts about Robin’s recent struggle with darkness. The mini-featurette also had some great behind-the-scenes footage. If you’re a Titans fan you should definitely check this out! Next, the DC Daily panel (John Kourounis, Brian Tong, Samm Levine, Clarke Wolfe, and Harley Quinn Smith) discussed Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
On Friday, December 14th, Sam Humphries, Markeia McCarty, and Samm Levine showed off the first-ever DC Universe binge kit! This treasure trove contained DC Universe comic cookies, a Batman denim jacket, an eye-catching Young Justice hoodie, an Aquaman figure, and many other items guaranteed to excite fans! The Fortress of Sweepstakes will be giving away one of these boxes every 10 days, so make sure you enter right here at DC Universe! Next, a mini-featurette on the making of the "Elseworlds" crossover showed fans how the epic event came together... By the way, did you catch DC Daily panelist John Barrowman during the crossover? John Kourounis and Barrowman sat down to talk about his return to the role of Malcolm Merlyn. Barrowman gave a defense of the villainous Merlyn, and said he sees him as an anti-hero, not a bad guy. Do you agree? Barrowman’s take may change your mind... Afterwards, the week concluded with the DC Daily panel (Tiffany Smith, John Kourounis, Harley Quinn Smith, Brian Tong, and Whitney Moore) talking about the latest DC news and releases. During their discussion of The Batman Who Laughs, John gave a Joker theory so mind-blowing you need to hear it for yourself!
If you missed any of the action, DC Daily can be streamed every week right here on DC Universe. If you think this week was epic, you won’t want to miss next week – you never know who might stop by the couch.
