Heads up, Courtney Whitmore fans! We've just received word that the premiere date of DC Universe's next live-action series Stargirl has been moved one week. You'll recall that the show was originally scheduled to premiere on May 11th. Well, you can now give yourself an extra seven days to prepare for Courtney's arrival, because her series will begin on Monday, May 18th, one day before it arrives on The CW (on Tuesday, May 19th).
Every week thereafter, DC Universe members will be the first to stream new episodes of the show, commercial-free in downloadable 4K Ultra HD. And DCU members will also be able to access extended versions of select episodes, enjoy behind-the-scenes videos of cast and crew, acquire exclusive collectible pins and limited-edition posters, discuss the latest episodes in our Community, and read the comics that inspired the series.
Here's the show's official synopsis: "From original creator and comic book writer Geoff Johns (executive producer of Titans, Arrow, Batwoman, and The Flash), DC’S Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger, School of Rock, The Goldbergs) as she moves to Blue Valley, Nebraska after her mother remarries Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson, Old School, Idiocracy), and inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The live-action superhero drama reimagines the 1999 Stargirl comics and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. DC’S Stargirl is lovingly inspired by Johns’ late sister, who was killed in a plane accident."
